We are excited to welcome Millie, The Accidental Cook to COUNTY.
Millie will soon be sharing her “chaos in the kitchen”, tasty recipes, and funny & inspirational stories.
Until then, enjoy one of her favorite dishes, “Millie’s Chili beans”, a delicious eat any time of the year.
Here we go!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 lb hamburger
- 2 teaspoons of onion flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1 cup of ketchup
- 1/2 cup of cooked rice
- 28 ounce can of pork & beans – Mille says “don’t skimp on the beans – get name brand!“
Add 2 tablespoons of water to hamburger meat and cook. After cooking, drain water from the hamburger and make sure the meat is crumbled well. Place the hamburger back into the pan and add onion flakes, garlic powder, brown sugar, and ketchup.
Mix it completely and allow to simmer for approximately 5 minutes. Then, add rice and simmer for an additional 5 minutes. After, add the pork & beans and simmer for 6-8 minutes, being careful not to overcook the beans.
Let us know how you like’em and stay tuned for Millie, The Accidental Cook.
